CathodeMiner

Problem

Despite the war, the number of electric passenger cars in Ukraine has doubled over the past two years: as of January 2022, Ukrainians owned 41 thousand units, in January 2024 the figure was more than 84 thousand. In each of these cars a battery is installed with the capacity of 50 kWh and more, weighing at least 400 kg. As time goes by, 40 thousand tonnes of waste batteries can already be predicted in Ukraine within the next 3-5 years, and that without considering new electric cars bought. These batteries can either become hazardous waste or be recycled and used to produce new batteries in Ukraine. This way, our country will achieve independence in this field of modern power engineering as well as become a world-renowned supplier of raw materials. All of that is possible thanks to our start-up.

Our future business is based on recycling of lithium-based batteries of any type, while we fully recover the properties of cathode and anode, which we sell afterward as raw material for production of new batteries. The price for a cleaner future is 10 000 Euro per tonne of cathode material.
