CathodeMiner

Solution and Value Proposition

The accumulation of waste batteries in Ukraine and all over the world is unavoidable. Our innovative technology enables us to turn waste into high-quality raw materials in the most efficient way existing on the market. Moreover, with time we hope to produce batteries in Ukraine and for Ukraine, significantly boosting the country’s economy and independence.

It is our goal to recover cathode and anode materials from the used batteries to later produce new batteries from the sourced raw materials within the framework of circular economy. From 100% of used cathode materials 98% can be recovered thanks to our technology, showing 100% of their initial properties.

Solution and value proposition

We would like to emphasize that we do not offer a typical battery recycling technology where a battery is disassembled and shredded, with different elements than being detected and retracted from it in the process of chemical reactions. Such processes are complex, expensive and only relatively effective. We offer to not just retract residual materials from batteries, but to recover the degraded materials from the battery without disassembling it into chemical elements.

We have already developed the full technology of cathode and anode recovery and validated it in our laboratory confirming TRL4. We have based our work on some findings made in the USSR time and mostly neglected due to the lack of demand for battery recycling. We have looked at the old hypotheses from the point of the modern lithium-ion batteries’ structure, developed a new technology and were able to confirm its effectiveness in tests.

The price of one tonne of our raw materials is determined by the expenses going into their recovery, production facilities and our expected profit.

Solution and value proposition

By recovering rather than salvaging battery components we ensure the lower price of raw materials as well as significantly smaller CO2 emissions. As a result, we are able to profitably sell one tonne of cathode materials for just 10 thousand euros. In comparison, the existing battery-recycling companies offer the same amount for 13-15 thousand euros, while significantly damaging the environment.
